Fresh Oil

We know that oil represents the Holy Spirit in so many ways but the Spirit's presence in our lives must stay fresh and new for the master's use(JESUS).

I would like to draw your attention to Acts 2...

2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Verse 3 says that first the Spirit sat upon them; then verse 4 says that after that, they were filled with the Holy Ghost. It appears to denote a process, however slight in transaction.

My point is, in order to stay full of the Holy Ghost, we must let the Holy Spirit rest upon us. We must sit until we submit fully. Then we will be full. As we become more exercised in the Spirit and are truly full of God's presence, then what is not of the Spirit will be pushed out, giving us the anointing we must have for the Lord's work! Gaining this fresh oil must be an everyday on-going process!!!!!

Consider the Greek words for 'sat:' kayizw, kathizo, kath-id'-zo. Their meanings encompass:

1) to make to sit down
1a) to set, appoint, to confer a kingdom on one
2) intransitively
2a) to sit down
2b) to sit
2b1) to have fixed one's abode
2b2) to sojourn, to settle, settle down
The continual setting of the Spirit upon us will bring us to a realm of experince as the apostles experienced. This is what will once again make us truly Apostolic!
